the interborough express: how public transportation shapes lives
public transportation is an often overlooked feature of people’s lives that can greatly impact quality of life and one’s experience with the environment around them. the interborough express is an infrastructure project in new york city that would connect brooklyn and queens, as there is currently no fast and efficient route between the two boroughs.
to better understand challenges in urban infrastructure, i followed mavis willams, a nurse who resides in queens, across her commute to brooklyn that she takes five days a week.
