i'm an environmental journalist working on my undergraduate journalism and religious studies degree; while also beginning my master's in science journalism. when i moved from georgia to flagstaff, az during middle school i experienced a miracle (for lack of a better word). before flagstaff, i had severe asthma and was constantly going to the doctor for illnesses. after moving to flagstaff, my mom and i saw an immediate change in my health. living by the peaks, i was able to hike, run, and play soccer with my friends without my inhaler. i only visited the doctor for regular checkups.

my life had completely changed because of the environment i inhabited. this has become the driving force in my decision to become an environmental journalist. i want to enhance the relationship humans have to nature through the goal of educating the public about environmental topics.
