i'm a third-year student at northwestern majoring in journalism and minoring in environmental policy & culture. i grew up in the middle of nowhere in south-central indiana, where an abundance of cornfields and a lack of entertainment paved the way for my adventurous spirit and love for nature. my dad's interests in wildlife, hiking, backpacking, and hunting have gradually rubbed off on me over the years, igniting my desire to want to protect wild places, and eventually inspiring me to pursue a career in environmental storytelling.
after graduating in june of 2022, i hope to continue my journalism education and eventually become a part of the peace corps.

fun fact: orcas are my favorite creatures on earth.
