i'm a fourth year undergraduate student at the george washington university interested in global environmental justice, climate change adaptation and resilience, and the nexus between gender and climate change. i want to share stories about communities' experiences dealing with climate change to hopefully influence policy. some of my work has highlighted indigenous environmental justice and coastal preservation and the intersectional impacts of climate change on rural female farmers in india. i'll be in india for the next nine months on a fulbright research award researching fisherwomen and climate change in goa, india!
the 2023 un water conference was held this past march, which marks a significant return to focusing on water issues by the un after a 46 year hiatus. however, gw student anuka upadhye notes that the conference has a long way to go before it can truly affect change for those dealing with water scarcity globally. keep reading
