batata boris-kaloff is a trained journalist from the department of journalism and mass communication, university of buea and has been practicing for over 5 years. in the domain of environmental journalism, boris-kaloff has been hosting and producing a radio program called “earth matters” on his local radio station (cbs radio buea fm 95.3). he has also carried out several environmental reports for both local and international platforms. some of these stories has drawn attention that influenced the action of local authorities.
boris-kaloff currently serves as journalist with the christian broadcasting service (cbs radio fm 95.3). as a journalist boris-kaloff has warn several recognitions including “the human rights and humanitarian reporter of the year 2021” an award given by victoria international media award (viima). he also served as a correspondent for the africa calling podcast, which is a radio france international rfi production, and has contributed articles for global voices.
in order to stay updated, boris-kaloff has attended several workshops on environmental reporting particularly on marine pollution one of which is the “advocacy workshop with journalists on marine debris and plastic pollution buea” organized by the association for community awareness- ascoa. he also attended a webinar on “environmental radio production & distribution” organized by the pulitzer center.
