suny environmental science and forestry
contributorbenette whitmore, phd, is interim chair of environmental studies at suny college of environmental science and forestry in syracuse, where she teaches classes in public communication of science, environmental writing, and public speaking. she has published seven children's books, including an endangered species counting book, ghost bat in a gum tree, and a young adult book, shelter. she wrote 35 episodes of an award-winning children's television show and is playwright for an environmental children's play, rainforest rhythms and the jungle jive, which has been performed throughout the northeast. she has a doctorate from syracuse university's school of education and a master’s degree from su’s newhouse school of public communications.
