i am a journalism student at suny purchase. i want to explore stories where environmental issues have an impact on a broader social and political scale. issues like city sustainability, controversies concerning the business practices of the fossil fuel industry, and the direct impact of climate change on the livelihoods of people around the world. i am from new york and the city is becoming more and more vulnerable to rising sea levels and extreme weather caused by climate change. for me, climate change is an issue that directly affects my life and the lives of fellow new yorkers, and that motivates me to call attention to these stories.
