eric forbes is a graduate student at colorado state university (csu) in the journalism and media communication department. his passion lies in environmental communication, where he helps create media that informs and moves people toward making good environmental choices. forbes is also particularly interested in the mesh point of the wildland-urban interface, where there is a lot of meaningful communication that needs to take place surrounding numerous environmental causes.

forbes' background is in video production and filmmaking, and he has directed a short documentary called lasting embers on wildfires in colorado. on other video and research projects, forbes has worked with the csu center for science communication, the u.s. department of agriculture (usda), and the national oceanic and atmospheric administration (noaa). 

one particular highlight of forbes' career so far was going to the big island of hawaii for about a month as a field research photographer for a study on human interactions with spinner dolphins. it was an eye-opening experience that showed how many community members and stakeholders could unite and make a difference for wildlife and the environment. forbes' work on the project did not end after leaving hawaii as he also conducted data analysis on this project and produced a video for the csu center for science communication about the study.

forbes looks forward to continuing to communicate environmental issues and is excited about using the planet forward platform to raise awareness on important topics.
