evan barnard is pursuing an m.a. in international affairs at american university’s school of international service and an m.a. in natural resources and sustainable development at the un-mandated university for peace. he holds a b.a. in international affairs and a b.a. in ecology from the university of georgia. he studied abroad extensively as an undergraduate, including at the university of oxford. his research focuses include environmental security intelligence, historical climate research as it informs modern and future climate security risks, and transboundary conflicts and other implications of regional water scarcity. with a background in environmental, science, and climate communication, he conveys environmental and climate security topics through environmental journalism. in the little free time he finds, he loves playing fiddle and birding.
