marina is currently a senior at suny college of environmental science & forestry, majoring in environmental studies and minoring in native people & the environment. she grew up in a suburb of philadelphia, witnessing first-hand the effects of litter and pollution on local ecosystems near her home.
marina was inspired by the informal teaching of summer camps growing up, and her various camp counselors inspired her to learn more about the environment so that future generations could appreciate the land just like she did. because of this, she believes that if everyone takes responsibility of their own small environment, then serious change can be made.
she believes we must care about the environment for our future. think about seven generations from now.
after marina graduates, she plans to work on re-greening efforts around cities, and spearheading environmental communication projects. she is also interested in traveling to teach outdoor education informally to children at summer camps or tours at conservation centers.
