the galápagos islands are a haven for thousands of diverse plant and animal species, many of which are found nowhere else on this planet.
in june 2024, several planet forward storyfest winners went with lindblad expeditions on a storytelling expedition to this unique and rigorously preserved place.
in the galápagos, the winners worked on new stories, reporting straight from the islands of baltra, isabela, fernandina, rabida, north seymour, and more. from interviewing local ecuadorians whore are leading the conservation of the islands, to covering the use of drone technologies to count marine iguana populations, the students’ stories will capture both the timeless results of evolution, and the next chapter of conservation.
with masterful guidance from the endeavor ii’s team of naturalists and lindblad expeditions‘ attention to crafting a rich, educational experience, we could not be more grateful for the continued support for our students to have these amazing opportunities.
check back here for each student’s story from this year’s amazing trip.
editor’s note: lindblad expeditions, our planet forward storyfest competition partner, made this series possible by providing winners with an experiential learning opportunity aboard one of their ships. we thank lindblad expeditions for their support of our project.
