ole miss set to equip over 100 buildings with energy monitors
ole miss, using smartsynch technology, can monitor energy use by building and work towards a goal of 20% energy reduction in four years. smartsynch, a technology company based out of jackson, ms, has developed readers that can tell exactly how much energy every building uses, from overall building use to individual rooms. the university of mississippi plans to soon have these readers placed on over 100 buildings (right now, 16 buildings have them) which would represent 80-85% of the campus energy use. our idea is to take these readers and set an overall goal: have the entire campus energy use decrease by 15% over a five year period. we have the technology and we have the idea, but does ole miss have the will?
