the green grove initiative at ole miss promotes recycling on football game days.
the grove at ole miss welcomes more than 60,000 people each game day. the green grove initiative is a program supported by the office of sustainability at ole miss. recycling bins are set up each game day with billboards that explain what can and cannot be recycled; therefore educating students, alumni and fans. more than 80,000 tons of garbage is collected from the grove. recycling cuts down energy usage dramatically.
