growing up in a family that owns and operates multiple oil fields across texas, conversations around climate change sparsely came up during my childhood. but as i reached my teenage years, i began noticing the effects of climate change in texas: how the droughts drying out the lakes at my family\u2019s ranch were affecting the wildlife that depended on them, how the increasing hurricanes were displacing my cousins in houston more frequently, and\u2013\u2013the most obvious effect to me\u2013\u2013the rising temperatures.<\/p>\n
