the central new york regional market is one of the largest farmers markets in the region, and as such it attracts a large variety of customers. the diversity is largely representative of syracuse’s population, including those that are minorities, or below the poverty line, because of its location. <\/p>\n
keeping in mind the racial, and socioeconomic impacts, i’m proposing that the market start by eliminating the use of plastic grocery bags. as a participant, an observer, and a researcher, i believe there are four different possible first steps that could be taken toward eliminating all plastic grocery bags from the market.<\/p>\n
