margaret frisbie has spent almost her entire life around the chicago river. as the executive director of friends of the chicago river since 2005, frisbie has been working tirelessly to make the chicago river a high-quality body of water while drumming up awareness to the river so that people are aware of its benefits. the chicago river has been used and abused for decades, serving as a dumping ground for waste from the rapidly growing industries in chicago dating back to the 1800s. the city of chicago and groups like friends of the chicago river have been working extensively to clean the river and its surrounding areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
