elly beckerman is junior at bates college, where she studies environmental studies, with a concentration in global environmental politics. she also minors in chinese and history. growing up in dc, her early experiences with the environment were generally on summer camping trips with her family. throughout high school, partially through an internship with planet forward, she began to develop a better sense of urban environmental challenges. these days, her education focus on place-based environmental justice issues and understanding and contextualizing environmental issues within the broader geo-socio-political landscape.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
