riddhi sarkar is a sophomore at american university, studying international affairs and communication. she is an avid traveler and writer, currently serving as a news assistant and editorial board member for her college newspaper, the eagle<\/a>, for which she covers topics including administrative news, student life, race relations and diversity, sustainability initiatives, speaker events, politics and breaking news stories on campus. she also conducts interviews as a citizen historian for the 1947 partition archive<\/a>, a non-profit oral history organization collecting stories of witnesses of the 1947 partition of india, an issue she is close to since her grandparents were deeply affected by the historical migration. riddhi enjoys going back to kolkata, india, her city of birth, during the summer.  the rest of her time is split between winchester, her quiet town in the suburbs of boston, and washington d.c., the newest city she loves to explore and call home, the place that acts as a training ground for her aspiration of being a global journalist, making sure every story that needs to be heard is told. <\/p>\r\n\r\n
